The Flight's Mini JB Bass is fairly new to the market. This whole category of bazaar is new.
That is, ukulele basses that have a scale of 23", have a solid body and magnetic microphones and steel strings.
Something that was almost unthinkable a few years ago.
The Mini JB Bass has a traditional design and can almost be mistaken for a "regular electric bass" from a distance.
Whether this even falls under the ukulele bass category is debatable.

This bass is both a ukulele bass and a regular electric bass, albeit in miniature size.
The size makes it a ukulele bass, but almost everything else makes it a traditional electric bass.
Like the microphone system with two Alnico 5 P-Style microphones.
Or the Hardtail string attachment.
These are details often seen with much larger basses.
This allows you to use regular bass strings on this bass. Which opens up a wide range of possibilities.
Most standard/medium 45-105 roundwound fits.
