Something that is clearly visible is the powerful rosette with mother-of-pearl inlay that sits diagonally below the sound hole. They call it the moon, and that's a good description.
Something else that is clearly visible is the triangular, "hollow" head. It is not a unique solution, but at the same time not something you see often.
The purpose of choosing a head is partly visual, but it also removes some weight from the ukulele.
Also on the head are tuning screws, designed to look old, with wooden lugs. Of course, nothing that affects sound or playability, but it's a nice touch.

Mr Mai is known for his idiom and decorations, where you often think outside the box. But just as much to produce solid ukuleles that are nice to play and that sound good.
The MM-80 is a design ukulele without being extreme. The head and rosette can be seen from a long way. But the interesting thing is that several common design elements are missing.
The fingerboard has markings on the "regular frets" in the form of mosaic-like inlays, but nothing that stands out or is particularly strange.
There is a discreet armrest
Otherwise, it's as if the dark, shiny koa is left to speak for itself.
In terms of playing and sound, there is nothing to complain about. Mr:mai delivers stable necks and fine craftsmanship. The solid koa gives this model an open and nice sound.
The MM-80 comes with a beautiful hard case. This is available in several colors. Choose your color or let us do it.
