💡 Pro Tip: String Changes and Bridge Pins on LO-MA

Roos LO-MA uses bridge pins to secure the strings – a solution common on exclusive acoustic guitars, but a bit rarer on ukuleles. This gives the instrument a clean and stylish look, but it requires understanding how the mechanism works.

How it works: Instead of tying the string around the bridge itself, it is held in place under the soundboard with a knot. A bridge pin is then pressed into the hole to secure the string and knot against the inside of the soundboard.

The art of tying the right knot: Unlike steel strings on a guitar, which almost always have a pre-made metal ball end, you must tie this knot yourself on the ukulele's nylon strings.

• The balancing act: The knot must be large enough to stay put under the soundboard, but at the same time not so large that you cannot push the string and knot through the hole during installation.

• Tip: It is quite normal for a newly installed string to "pop out" the first time you tune it up. It often takes a couple of attempts before the knot sits perfectly.
