If the Flight Maia had merely been a beautiful, glossy, shiny baritone ukulele with a solid mango wood top, this product description would not have been much longer than this.
But there's something about the Maia that stands out, even for a Flight ukulele.
Yes, it has steel strings.

The Flight Maia has a solid mango wood top. A type of wood with exciting color and grain.
The back and sides are made of laminated rosewood.
The Maia doesn't have an excessive amount of ornamentation and binding, yet it looks magnificent. Yes, truly beautiful.

The Maia is part of Flight's Princess Series.

There are very few mass-produced steel-string ukuleles on the market. There are probably many reasons for that.
A steel-string baritone builds a very exciting bridge between the ukulele and guitar worlds.

This is not a ukulele for everyone. Many ukulele players will likely see no benefit or point in these strings at all.

It is normal for a ukulele to be seen as a smaller sibling to a classical guitar. So those who play classical guitar, with all that entails, almost get the ukulele "in the same package." And vice versa, to some extent.
But steel-string guitarists have no equivalent younger sibling. As nice as the ukulele is... it's a sound you don't always want.
But that's where Maia comes in.
